Google account access

WillMail requests your Google account identity, email address and Gmail permission to read, compose and send mail, manage drafts and labels, archive messages, move messages to trash, and return conversations to your inbox when a reminder is due. Access is limited to the owner’s explicitly allowed accounts. Each account must grant permission through Google.

Messages and attachments are processed to provide these email features. Gmail remains the source of your mail and saved drafts.

What is stored

Cloudflare hosts the app and its database. The database stores account identifiers, email addresses, encrypted Google refresh tokens, sign-in sessions, preferences, reminder times, thread and label identifiers, undo records, and notification delivery state. Push subscriptions are encrypted. The app does not maintain a separate archive of email bodies or attachments.

Your browser stores appearance preferences and, in the demo only, sample mail changes. The offline cache contains the app’s offline screen and icons, not your mailbox. Notification messages use generic text rather than email content.

How data is used

Data is used to operate this personal mail workspace. It is not sold, used for advertising, or used by WillMail to train AI models. Google provides mail access; Cloudflare processes the app’s requests and stored data; your browser’s push service delivers notifications when enabled.

Optional AI search, when configured and used, sends your search question and matching sender, subject, date and short message previews to OpenAI to find relevant conversations. Regular Gmail search does not use this feature. AI search is unavailable when no AI service is configured.

WillMail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and removing data

You can revoke WillMail’s Google access in your Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Signing out ends the current session and disables this device’s notification subscriptions for the connected accounts; it does not erase stored account connections or reminders.

Account connections, preferences and reminders remain in the app database until removed by the operator. To request removal of stored app data, contact william@ekwnox.com. Removing WillMail’s connection or app data does not delete your Gmail mailbox.
